UN Eritrea Annual Results Report 2025

The UN Eritrea Annual Results Report 2025 documents what changed in people’s lives through nationally led development efforts supported by the United Nations Country Team under the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2022–2026.

In 2025, routine immunization coverage remained above 95 per cent, and skilled birth attendance increased from 81 to 85 per cent. More than 38,000 children requiring therapeutic nutrition care recovered at cure rates meeting international standards. Around 90,000 pastoralist households protected their livelihoods through livestock vaccination and emergency feed support, while approximately 250,000 people gained access to more reliable, solar‑powered water systems. Progress on ending female genital mutilation (FGM) accelerated, with 992 villages now recognized as free from the practice.

The report reflects a year marked by regional instability and a constrained financing environment, with available resources below identified needs. Despite these challenges, integrated UN system support helped strengthen national systems, protect essential services, and deliver strong value for money through coordinated, multi‑agency approaches.

This year’s edition adopts a more visual, human‑centred design, combining data, stories and photography to make results easier to navigate and engage with. It is intended as both a record of results and a tool for dialogue, learning and partnership as Eritrea enters the final year of the current Cooperation Framework and prepares for the next cycle aligned with the National Development Plan 2026–2030.
